Hans-Sachs-Chor Nürnberg (GER)

When Nuremberg celebrates 50 years of the Bardentreffen and the 450th anniversary of the death of the Meistersinger Hans Sachs, the Hans-Sachs-Chor is, of course, a must. For the festival’s opening, under the direction of Guido Johannes Rumstadt, the choir builds a musical bridge from the Renaissance to the present day—an unusual terrain for this traditional concert choir, which is usually heard performing major oratorios at the Meistersingerhalle.
