Michael was born in Germany to a German mother and a US father. When he was six years old, his father went back to the USA with the family. There he grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 2012, Michael Lane took part in the singing casting show "The Voice of Germany". His interpretation of the song Angel, originally by Sarah McLachlan, was released as a download song and entered the charts. In the semi-final, Michael sang the self-written song Mrs. Lawless and came third in the end.

Since 2012, Michael has released 3 studio albums and has been playing shows all over Europe. With over 2 million Spotify plays and 700 thousand YouTube streams, Michael Lane is already delighting his fans worldwide.
