Silent Disco

For the first time, dancing will continue under the open sky in front of the stage at Insel Schütt on Friday and Saturday night. When the last notes of live music fade away at 11 pm in the midsummer temperatures, the Bardentreffen will roll out DJ booths onto the stage and distribute headphones for the first Silent Disco in the festival's history. This collaboration with Nuremberg scene DJs from KulturKellerei and NBGrooves is made possible by the commitment of DATEV: Silent Disco empowered by DATEV.

Friday and Saturday, 11 pm - 1 am, Insel Schütt

Greek dance workshop

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the city partnership between Nuremberg and Kavala, the Bardentreffen, in cooperation with the Office for International Relations and the Greek Art Club Nuremberg, is bringing a piece of Mediterranean dance culture to the city and inviting everyone to join in. No prior knowledge is required. Whether holding hands or shoulders, everyone who joins the circle is welcome. The dances will include Kalamatianós and Hasapiko. Grigorios Nikiforidis and the Greek Art Club Nuremberg will lead the workshop.

GEMA Basics for music creators

For many years, GEMA has supported the Bardentreffen and is present with an information booth and various activities at Sebalder Platz. Additionally, in the workshop "GEMA Basics for Music Creators," it provides useful knowledge about the structure of GEMA, rights management, and membership. This includes discussing legal fundamentals and offering insights into the services and extras available for members.

Die Musikzentrale präsentiert das regionale Program auf der Bühne am Lorenzer Platz
Musikzentrale presents local heroes

In cooperation with Musikzentrale Nürnberg e.V., the regional music scene is once again strongly represented at this year's Bardentreffen. On all three festival days, Musikzentrale will present 16 exciting new discoveries and heroes of the local scene on the stage at Lorenzer Platz. The project is supported by the festival's main sponsor
Sparda-Bank Nürnberg. The band Hadé is the winner of the Sparda-Band-Voting and has won a popular concert slot. Congratulations!

The CD sampler for the festival

Once again this year there will be a Bardentreffen CD sampler. The Folk Galore magazine from CPL-Musicgroup has selected 18 artists and summarised them in an atmospheric compilation. The sampler is available in haptic form at the information centres during the concerts or can already be ordered online. If you are interested in further recordings of the artists performing, you can usually buy them directly from the stages after the concerts or at the information centre on the main market throughout the weekend.

The 2024 programme booklet is out!

With its new design and handy format, the programme booklet offers a wealth of background information on this year's Bardentreffen. Inside, you will find detailed presentations of all artists and programme highlights. In addition, it contains a schedule of the concert dates, contexts on the thematic focus, exclusive interviews and exciting guest contributions.

The programme booklet is now available in the online shop for 7 euros. It will also be on sale at regional pre-sale points and at the information stands during the festival.

Theme 2024: "Mediterranean Crossing"

Already booked your summer holiday? The Mediterranean is a popular holiday destination for many Europeans. Sun, beaches and palm trees symbolise the dream of an earthly paradise come true. The Mediterranean has connected the three continents of Europe, Africa and Asia for many centuries. It is a melting pot of cuisines, arts and cultures. And yet it is also an almost insurmountable barrier for many on their way to a new life. The diverse musical and cultural currents in the Mediterranean region, to which the Nuremberg World Music Festival will be focussing this year, are also blurred by the tension between Orient and Occident.
