An expressive voice, a grounded kantele and inventive percussion: award-winning virtuoso, singer-songwriter and one-woman band, Maija Kauhanen, interweaves polyrhythms with hand-made beats, creating moving sound landscapes and fascinating grooves. Her music is strongly rooted in Finnish tradition, but open for influences from Folk, Indie Pop and film music.
