Why would an a-cappella choir take the word for a stew popular in Portugal and Spain as its name? Because the ten women in their creative processes like experimenting with ingredients just as much as the cooks when preparing “Sopa de Pedra”, stone soup. The starting point for their fascinating and extremely creative a-cappella arrangements is a single, simple ingredient: a traditional melody or a folksong. Then the musicians add more and more voices creating finely tuned, perfect harmony.
