Omiri unites things that seem to be miles apart: folk melodies and modern electronic sounds. In this inventive project, snippets from traditional Portuguese songs are sampled, scored for conventional instruments such as accordion, drum or nyckelharpa, and then the sound is completely broken up by mixing in driving electronic elements. The result is unique, not only bursting with energy, but also with wit and charm, and always danceable.
