We’ve come full circle: 35 years after the first appearance of Farka Touré, Godfather of Mali Blues, on the Bardentreffen stage, his son Vieux Farka Touré is coming to the festival with his music. After proving himself as an artist with his very own style and winning great recognition with his five albums, the well-versed guitarist, Vieux Farka Touré, now proudly returns to his roots. And in doing so, his fiery guitar playing and the urgent messages of his songs give contemporary meaning to his father’s “Desert Blues”.
