In the summer of 2026, Nuremberg will celebrate a double anniversary: 50 years of Bardentreffen world music festival and the 450th anniversary of the death of Nuremberg’s Meistersinger Hans Sachs, in whose honor the Bardentreffen was founded in 1976. Two jubilees that uniquely connect the past and present of the art of songwriting.

Once again this year, street musicians have the opportunity to become an official program item at the Bardentreffen festival from 31 July to 2 August in Nuremberg's city centre. The application period for a performance on the street music stage in front of the Sparda Bank branch in Karolinenstraße starts immediately. Whether global pop, singer-songwriting or choirs - all styles of music are welcome. The music is played acoustically, there is no loudspeaker system. A total of 17 time slots will be allocated, with a maximum performance time of 60 minutes.
